Defining Rude

After watching our President struggle through his first debate with Mittens, I have to admit that I had high hopes for Joe Biden's performance in the Vice Presidential debate.  I wasn't disappointed.  Vice President Biden was his usual self;  articulate, but plain-spoken, witty, affable and above all, factual.  The thing I love most about Joe Biden is this:  He does not suffer fools easily or well, and Paul "lyin" Ryan was no exception.  To me, Vice President Biden has always stood for the blue collar working individual, for middle class families who stick together and stick up for their values.  Joe Biden is the stalwart defender of the average guy.

Apparently, Joe being Joe didn't sit too well with the Fox News crowd.  They were pretty hot under the collar about Biden taking their man Ryan to school at the Thrilla in the Villa.  When the dust settled and the last knot in Ryan's stitches was tied, righties across the country were diluting their beer with the tears of the defeated.  Not only was their ticket exposed for the fraud it is;  they were called on it--and Paulie had no answer.  It seems this is a big problem for Republicans.  Mike Huckabee called the Vice-President an "obnoxious drunk",  Sean Hannity wondered aloud to Mitch McConnell whether he had consumed bourbon, and Gretchen Carlson called Biden's debate performance "Over-the-top disrespectful."
So, do you whiners want to know what the rest of us in the United States call it?  Honest.

It's about damn time someone called these two thugs what they really are...bull-shit artists.  They weave broad swaths of absolute fallacy and cover the nation in their lies.  The men and women who will be going to the polls on November 6th deserve to have a factual basis on which to make their choice.  The entire Romney campaign is based strictly on falsehoods, misrepresentations and outright lies.  Joe Biden stood up for all of us and said, enough already--no more.  The American people deserve the truth.  And then he preceded to act as a one man fact checking team and called bullshit on 50% of what came out of Ryan's mouth.

Even the debate moderator got in on calling Paul Ryan's bullshit, asking for specifics and when his answers provided naught, stating to him, "So, no specifics."  Most of Ryan's answers seemed to be nothing more than talking points that were well rehearsed and buffed to a high shine, not unlike the lead on his ticket.  When pressed to give any kind of detail, or when caught off guard with a spontaneous follow-up question, Ryan stumbled and gave answers that were sometimes incoherent and rambling.

So, thank you, Vice-President Biden, for saying to Paul Ryan's face what I shout at my television screen every time I see him open his mouth.  Thank you for having enough respect for the American people to tell the truth, and for believing we deserve the truth from both sides.  Thank you for holding Ryan to a higher standard.  Honestly, I like to see you smile.  I was glad to see that you were enjoying having Paul Ryan as a late evening snack and then spitting him out. It's nice when you get to see someone enjoy their job as much as you did Thursday night.  There's something gratifying about seeing the second in command hold his rival accountable for his words...especially when they matter so much.

Joe's got more class in his pinkie than Ryan has in his entire body.  Ryan made that abundantly clear when he decided it would be a good idea to tell one of his "bull shit" human stories about a couple in a car crash.  That was pathetic and weak.  Thank god Joe Biden has enough strength and conviction to withstand such a callow attempt at throwing him off his game.  It was just another piece of the mounting evidence that there's no low to which Romney and Ryan won't stoop, there's no line they won't cross.  Nothing in this campaign, for them, is sacred.  You think Joe Biden was rude to you?  Bitch, please.

PS.  Hey Fox News: Joe wasn't rude...he was just everything Paul Ryan wants to be, but is incapable of.  While we're at it, Lyin' Ryan--I predict here and now that you're going to be unemployed come November 7th.  You'll be wishing someone would call you Congressman then, my friend.

  1. Vice President Biden came across as Presidential. Calling him rude (Fox News and all the other righties out there) isn't that like the pot and the kettle. Just sayin. I believe President Obama will bring his A game on Tuesday and will not be as polite as he was in the previous debate.

  2. President Obama has a very fine line to walk, indeed. If he's too aggressive, he's an angry black man. If he's not aggressive enough, he's weak. I think the tone needs to be more polite than the VP debate, but the President cannot afford to let Romney's lies go unanswered. I can't wait to watch, and you know where to go to see the breakdown (NO not MSNBC--here, silly)!!
