The Tea Party--A Bedtime Story (part 2)

Our story continues
So tuck yourself tight
Where we left off last night
Was a horrible fright
But move on we must
And move on we will
With the Republican House
Debating a bill

The nation's debt ceiling
Was caving in fast
Would the full faith and credit
Of America last?
The republicans hollered
They shouted and fret
They simply refused
To increase the debt

But like our friend Rick
Who we met last night
They were only presenting
One side of the fight
What they failed to mention
As they sat on their tush
Was they raised the debt ceiling
Nineteen times for George Bush

John Boehner, the Speaker
Now he was quite wise
And knew the quagmire
Was for public eyes
The debate that was raging
Was simply a ploy
For Barack H. Obama
His nerves to annoy

So in the back rooms
And dimly lit places
John Boehner did take them
And said to their faces...

"Now look you companions
You partners in crime"
We'll say we're against it
But just for a time
When the bill in the House
Comes up for a vote
We'll all say "Aye aye"
Or the country goes broke.

He ne're saw it coming
Not even at all
But there was a faction
That refused to play ball
They said "We're the freshmen"
We've nothing to lose
By screwing the people
With really tight screws

Old Boehner, he wept
As he's oft apt to do
As he realized then
He was righteously screwed
His party was fractioned
There was no room to duck it
And his tears over flowed
His congressional bucket

Join with us next time
As we continue to see
How we've all been f#%ked over
By the party called Tea

to be continued....
